Botany Bay
Botany Bay is situated in the beautiful Wye Valley above the village of Tintern, approximately 8 miles from Chepstow and 9 miles from Monmouth.
The site covers 27 acres and, for the main part is steeply wooded, providing an excellent environment for traditional Scouting activities such as cooking, pioneering, conservation, and woodcraft.
The site has a large camping field, lots of woodland for Scouting activities, and several buildings including a lodge and training cabins.
Facilities
Water, toilets, showers, car park, lodge with kitchen, log cabins, camp fire circle, chapel, chemical toilet disposal.
On-site activities
Orienteering course, pioneering (poles available), tree trail. The Wye Valley Walk runs alongside the site, and Offa's Dyke is just the other side of the valley.
Local attractions
Tintern including Tintern Abbey, Chepstow including Chepstow Castle, Offa's Dyke. The Brecon Beacons, Black Mountains and Forest of Dean are easily accessible, and practically all adventurous activities are available within an hour's drive of the site.
