Yr Hafod

Sunrise over Yr HafodHafod was built in 1959. It is a beautiful stone building standing at the head of the Nantffrancon Valley. A hillside dwelling perched on the Western side of the valley; it is surrounded by some of the highest mountains in Snowdonia. The building has good road access with parking for 15 vehicles. Views from the car park are magnificent and if ever there was a place to come to, and bring friends or walking and climbing groups to enjoy the Mountain environment, then this is it.

The interior is clean and tidy and contains all the amenities one would expect to find in a hostel which can sleep 40 people (Currently 32 due to bunk height restrictions). It is complete with a large kitchen, dining room, 3x12 bunk dormitories plus a 1x4 bunk dormitory. There is a carpeted lounge and two very clean washroom areas with toilets and hot & cold showers. The drying room is situated adjacent the entrance door near to the porch were wet waterproofs can be hung to dry. There is a public telephone in the building also.
