Scouting means business
Scouting is renowned for its diverse range of activities and is looking to develop new and lasting partnerships bringing benefits to all concerned. With this in mind, Scouting has created a programme of adventure and activities which can be enhanced by business involvement.
Scouting in Wales can provide a business partner with the confidence that Corporate Social Responsibility objectives will be achieved in a way that encompasses their working ethics and environment, whilst developing a new and lasting business link that is a genuine two-way partnership bringing real benefits to all concerned.
What is Scouting Today?
The organisation has undergone massive change in recent years, without losing its commitment to teaching youngsters valuable social and community skills. Scouting is open to all young people – boys and girls – between the ages of 6 and 25, from all works of life, cultural and religious backgrounds. It aims to give its members the best possible start in life, teaching them valuable social and community skills.
Scouting encourages young people to be trustworthy and self-confident, to have self respect and to show respect and consideration for others, to show responsibility for the natural world and to have an active faith. The Scout programme teaches new skills through involvement and participation in a wide variety of activities, offering leadership, organisational and communication skills, excitement, challenge and friendship.
Scouting is a not-for-profit educational charity run on the goodwill of its adult volunteers. In Wales, Scouting has over 12,000 members, supported by 3,000 adult volunteers, working either as leaders or trustees, in 330 community-based Scout Groups.
How the Scouting CSR Programme can help your Business
The key areas of the Programme focus on helping and valuing your local community, understanding others and appreciating your environment. However, all programmes are tailor-made according to the CSR objectives of our business partners.
Research shows that a company with an excellent CSR programme benefits particularly from retention and recruitment of staff, an excellent working environment, a rise in productivity and an increase in staff moral. Please help to show that Scouting means business!
