JOTA and JOTI

Jamboree on the Air (JOTA) and Jamboree on the Internet (JOTI) are both taking place this weekend.

Both activities allow Scouts from around the world to connect using radio and internet technologies.

Jamboree on the Internet

Jamboree on the Internet is the largest Jamboree in the world!  Every year, tens of thousands of Scouts take part, making it even bigger than a World Jamboree!

JOTI is held on the third weekend of October, but ScoutLink is open around the year, so join the webchat now, or find out more info from the following websites:

Jamboree on the Air

The JOTA is an annual event in which Scouts and Guides all over the world speak to each other by means of amateur radio contacts. Scouting experiences are exchanged and ideas are shared, via the radio waves.

When Scouts want to meet young people from another country they usually think of attending a World Jamboree or another international gathering. But few people realise that each year about 500,000 Scouts and Guides get together over the airwaves for the annual Jamboree on the Air (JOTA). Modern communication technology offers Scouts the exciting opportunity to make friends in other countries without even leaving home.
