You will be aware that Compass is unavailable at the present time so the 2015 census will have to be completed using an amended version of the previous system for the formal reporting and approval of this year’s census figures. We accept this may regretfully cause you and the District some inconvenience, but we would be most grateful for your support to complete the 2015 census.
This one day workshop has been specifically designed to equip you with the skills, knowledge and support required to deal with the varied challenges faced as a Group Scout Leader.
So whether you are a newly appointed Group Scout Leader, you have been in the role for some time; or if you are undertaking some part of the role as an Assistant GSL, Group manager or similar then you are more than welcome!
The National Assembly for Wales is currently looking into the issue of supply teaching in Wales and are looking to collect evidence and source opinions from children, young people, parents and carers all over Wales.
This year the conference’s focus will be around delivering the 2018 Vision, in particular the many ways that your Development Service can work with you to help you to achieve success. Sessions will include recruiting new adult volunteers and young people, supporting managers and accessing resources to support the growth of Scouting, to name but a few.
ScoutsWales has received the Collaboration Award at a recent celebration event showcasing the CWVYS 'Getting Together' Project. The Project, funded by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation, saw a consortium of 10 CWVYS members working together to build stronger communities through a programme of youth led community activity delivered through truly collaborative working.
Congratulations to Jill Gloster, former Chief Commissioner for ScoutsWales, on receiving an OBE for her services to the Scouting Movement in Wales and David Gerrard, former ScoutsWales Trustee and Deputy Area Commissioner in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan Area, on receiving a MBE for his services to Young People in Cardiff through the Scout Movement.
ScoutsWales would also like to congratulate all the other Scouting recipients, across the UK, in the New Years Honours List.
