Working Together: All-Wales Beaver Scouts Leaders' Conference

Saturday 17 April 2010, Llandrindod Wells High School

Time: 9:45am to 4:30pm

Cost: £10.00 to include hot lunch

Closing date for bookings: 2 April 2010

The theme was agreed to reflect the needs identified through Your Programme Your Voice for additional resources for the Global and Beliefs and Attitudes Programme Zones and will consider both local (within the district, group and section) and more global issues.

The format will follow that of previous conferences, starting with coffee and registration at 9:45am.  During the morning we will have a keynote speaker (a representative fromthe Children's Commissioner's office), HQ input on the future of Beaver Scouting, and related discussion groups, with workshop sessions in the afternoon and a marketplace throughout the day.

We have already booked the WSC goodies, Merthyr Tydfil Scout Shop, and the Information Centre for the marketplace, and the Wales Training Team will be on hand all day to discuss or sign off any modules you need.

As for workshops, there will be the ever popular art and craft corner, ideas for Back to Basics Beavers, the Beliefs and Attitudes Zone, the Global Zone and Fair Trade for Beavers, and a presentation on the Young Leaders' Scheme, as well as some still to be booked.

Remember that you can expect the colony or group to pay your expenses for the day, and that attending will provide your ongoing training requirement for the year.  It is an excellent way to refresh your enthusiasm for Scouting and a good place to meet and make friends.  How about getting your area or district to organise a minibus, so you can cut the carbon footprint for the day as well.
